EMERGING ADULTHOOD: ORGANIZATION AND CONFERENCES
Three conferences on emerging adulthood have been held so far, in 2003, 2005, and 2007. For a report on the 3rd Conference on Emerging Adulthood, and for information on the 4th conference planned for 2009, see www.ssea.org.
Dr. Arnett is the chair of the Emerging Adulthood Special Interest Group (EASIG) sponsored by the Society for Research on Adolescence. The goal of this group is to bring together people who have a common interest in emerging adulthood (roughly ages 18-29). SRA membership is required to join the group, but even non-members are welcome to use the web site as an information source. There is no charge for membership. If you are interested in being part of this group, please fill out a simple questionnaire and e-mail it to Jennifer Tanner at jennifer.tanner@simmons.edu.
A variety of materials related to emerging adulthood are available on the web site, including:
- Membership roster for the EA SIG, including EA-related interests of each member.
- Websites related to EA.
- Bibliography of EA-related publications—over 35 pages long!
- Teaching resources for those who wish to teach a course on EA.
- Practical resources for those who work with EAs or wish to devise interventions for EAs.
